The new idea design of key panel of the RF instruments.
In April 2024, I received a request from our customer Mr. Fan, He asked us to help redesign the PCB of the key panel of the RF instruments, and,He give us his new design idea.
Detail of Case are as below :
Mr.Fan runs a company specializing in the rental, sale and repair of high-frequency radio-frequency instruments, so he often receives repair orders for such instruments.
The main scope of instrument failure is mostly motherboard failure and key panel failure, so Mr.Fan needs to find PCB manufacturers to help him re-manufacture or change the design of PCB.
When the key panel fails, he usually needs to rebuild the new panel. This time, Mr.Fan asked us not only to re-manufacture a new PCB, but also to re-change the PCB design according to his technical requirements.
Next, after detailed communication with Mr.Fan, our PCB layout engineer completed the design changes of the PCB board within four working days, and was confirmed by Mr.Fan.
So the main changes in the new design plan are:
1. Changing the original FPC PCB to FR4 Rigid material with 0.4mm board thickness.
2. Cut down the wiring position of the original FPC PCB and replace it with a pin connector.
The new design makes the panel easier to operate and maintain and more durable when the instrument is in use.
And than, our production department have produced according to the new PCB Gerber data designed by the engineer. First, a batch of samples have been made and delivered to Mr.Fan. Get the customer's praise for our fast delivery.
A week later, I asked Mr.Fan about the use of PCB board, and his positive answer was very nice, No problem! He also told me that he had saved money on instrument maintenance because of the new design.
